Most believers, if they are honest, would have to admit that they do not know the joy of praying for an extended period of time. Our culture is one that is busy and demanding; our attention span has been condi-tioned to be short and quick. Everything goes against our spending extended time in solitary meditation and prayer. Yet, we all yearn to have an intimate relationship with our Lord. How can this be accom-plished?
One thing we must be willing to do is set everything aside to listen. This means the willingness to turn off the computer, turn off the television, and close the iPad or Nook. When we are willing to silence everything else in order to talk to God, God takes that very seriously and listens intently. Your voice matters in heaven, and when you enter into His presence in faith, God honors your prayers and answers your petitions.
Your prayers can move God to change the world through you! Action in heaven begins when someone prays on earth. When you speak, our Lord hears. When Jesus hears, prayers are answered and visions are realized. When prayers are answered the world is changed. All that is possible, because someone prayed!
